About Vision & mission

Vision & mission

Two sentences the committee is held to. Everything the club spends time or money on should be traceable to one of them.

Our vision

A Bangladesh where golf is open to anyone willing to play it well — and a Bangladesh that the golfing world knows, visits and respects.

Two halves of one idea. The first is domestic: that the game should not be closed to a talented child in Rangpur because nobody in their district owns a set of clubs. The second is external: that a country with courses this good should not be absent from the region’s golfing map.

Our mission

To grow participation across the country, fund and develop the players who can represent it, and sustain a permanent circuit of friendship between Bangladeshi golf and clubs abroad.

The mission is deliberately operational. Each clause names something the club actually does, has a budget attached to it, and is reported on at the Annual General Meeting.

How this becomes work

The six objectives that translate the mission into a year’s programme.

Widen access to the game

Remove cost, equipment and etiquette as barriers to a first round — through free clinics, loaned clubs and programmes aimed squarely at people who have never held a club.

Fund the country’s best young players

Identify talent through open trials and carry a selected squad on full scholarship — coaching, conditioning, entry fees and travel — against published performance benchmarks.

Establish golf outside Dhaka

Work with district clubs and sponsors to build practice facilities and a fixture calendar in Rangpur, Sylhet, Khulna and Chattogram.

Represent Bangladesh abroad

Enter club teams in regional amateur events and maintain reciprocal fixtures with partner clubs across Asia and the Gulf.

Host the world in Bangladesh

Welcome visiting golfers, diplomatic missions and touring sides, and provide the tee-time, travel and hospitality support that makes a visit straightforward.

Govern to international standard

Maintain World Handicap System administration, publish audited accounts, and hold committee elections on a fixed and transparent cycle.

Held to account by the membership

The Executive Committee reports progress against each objective to the General Body every year.
