Membership
Open to golfers of every standard — including those who have never played. Membership carries the full fixture calendar at home, member rates at partner clubs abroad, and a share in the work of growing this game across Bangladesh.
Most clubs sell you a course. We offer you a calendar.
The club holds no land of its own. It means your subscription funds players and programmes rather than greenkeeping, and it means your membership plays six courses instead of one.
It also means the club can say yes to people other clubs turn away. There is no waiting list measured in years, no requirement to arrive with a handicap, and no expectation that you already know how any of this works.
What membership gets you
Every category below carries all six. They are not tiered, and they are not conditional on how much you play.
Full fixture calendar
Twenty-six events a season across six courses — championships, medals, scrambles and the weekly game.
Play abroad at member rates
Reciprocal arrangements with partner clubs in eleven countries, plus four club tours every year.
Official WHS handicap
Handicap administration under the World Handicap System, accepted by clubs and competitions worldwide.
Coaching and clinics
Member rates on one-to-one tuition, small-group clinics and the club’s structured practice programmes.
GOLFERS magazine
Every issue of the club journal in print and digital, delivered as it is published.
The club community
The annual dinner, the awards evening, the embassy fixtures — and a membership that spans the whole country.
Membership categories
Four ways to belong. Every category carries full playing rights; they differ in term, cost and who they are designed for.

Before you apply
If your question is not here, the membership desk answers email within two working days.
Do I need an existing handicap to join?
No. Applicants without a handicap are welcome and are placed into the New Golfer Program, which ends with a supervised nine-hole round and a provisional handicap.
Is LION Golf Club open to women?
Yes, fully and on equal terms. The club fields ladies’ divisions at every fixture and reserves places in the talent squad for girls.
Can members living abroad remain active?
Yes. Overseas Membership keeps your playing rights for visits to Bangladesh, and includes tee-time assistance at partner clubs and a digital GOLFERS subscription.
Does the club own its own course?
LION Golf Club Ltd. plays across Bangladesh’s established courses under fixture agreements. This lets members play a varied calendar rather than a single layout.
How are tournament entries allocated?
Entry opens to members first, then to invited guests. Life members hold priority. Oversubscribed fields are settled by handicap and by order of merit standing.
Can a company sponsor a fixture?
Yes. Sponsorship ranges from a single hole to full title sponsorship of a championship. Write to the sponsorship desk for the current prospectus.
Ready to join?
The Membership Sub-Committee meets monthly, and every applicant receives a written decision.
